Update for iOS 4

Hello,

Due to iPhone/iPod Touch new firmware iOS 4 some code modification is needed to make sure the application is fully working. This new release is under Apple review since July 1st and should be available very soon.

Because a patch is needed for iOS 4, I have also included one bug fix in this release regarding shopping item being created twice when already existing.

How to delete elements

You are few users asking how to delete a project or a shopping list in Task This, so here is the way to do it.

Swipe your finger from left to right or right to left on a project label or a shopping list label and push the delete button to confirm. This work for most of the elements available into Task This and this is a standard procedure to delete objects provided by Apple. The same apply into Mail application for example.

Task This and the iPhone built in calendar

For the user that have registered on the Task This web application, it now possible to get the Task This events and milestone in the iPhone/iPod Touch built in calendar by simply subscribing to the Task This calendar. To do so, please find the process below (sorry for the french sceenshot).

Doing so, you will be able to get alerted without using the message push because the built in calendar will be able to alert you. As a reminder keep in mind that only the events and milestone are, for the time being, available into the built in calendar.

Notification server updated

You may have noticed the message push were received with a few minutes difference with the expected time. The notification serveur date/time was a bit late compare to the real world date/time. When the server was 3:25pm it was in fact 3:30pm. This has 2 side effects, the first one to receive the notification 5 minutes earlier, the other one to not receive the notification when doing some notification tests by setting a notification date/time less than 10 minutes from the actual time.

I have updated the notification server to set the correct date/time and also to make sure that it will always be synchronized with the "real time" in future.

A lot of people has downloaded the application from the app store et few of you have given some feedback on issues or improvements that could be done. I have so decided to start to work on the new release to implement the user requests. This version is planned to be publish for review to Apple this next sunday and should be available next week on the App Store if the delay for review is as quick as for the initial version (around 4 days).

This version will provide the following improvements :

(new) issue while importing the contact for birthdate for those with firstname or name being available
(new) propose user to use it's own image to be defined for the Dashboard background
(new) define notification date/time using the same event due date/time
(new) quick reminder creation from Dashboard
(new) add new icons for shopping
(new) synchronization of the shopping items to web application

(fix) Application crash when trying to delete an item with "Editing mode"
(fix) Translation issues
(fix) Due date/time for event when changing event type

Message push

Messages push are now available. In fact, the notification server needed to be upgraded to the large amount of users who choose to use Task This. To be franc, I didn't expect so many users after only 3 days on App Store.
